A Local Town For Local People

I work in a town that takes bonfire celebrations seriously. You could say they were obsessed to an almost offensive degree with burning effigies of religious figures. I’m never one to complain about being let out of work early (they close the roads at 5, so that they have more space in which to burn papier mache models of well known people – they did Steve Irwin in 2006, someone not far away has burnt a papier mache caravan full of pikies, you get the picture). I do chuckle to myself though, when I walk past things like this in the car park…
